    Slovenian local breeds at the 55th International Agricultural Fair

    Slovenian local breeds were present at the 55th International Agricultural Fair in Slovenia. Many different products and activities such as from sheep to wool and others were presented during the fair. Visitors and government representatives were learning about the local breeds and products including tasting. Few moments from the fair are available here.[more]

    Interview with ERFP Chair and Secretariat in the Science & Technology

    ERFP was invited to express the opinion regarding the work and aims of the ERFP and also challenges involved in the conservation and sustainable use of AnGR and the role of the European Commission in the effective implementation of the FAO Global Plan of Action. Interview was published in the quarterly publication PEN: Science & Technology distributed to over 250,000 key European figures, including policy makers, legislators, influential academics and leading industrialists.     Results of the 16th Session of the FAO Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA)

    The sixteenth session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA 16) was held from 30 January to 3 February 2017, at FAO headquarters, in Rome, Italy.     European Cooperative Programmes for Genetic Resources offering assistance to the European Commission (EC) and the European Parliament (EP)

    Following up from the preliminary conclusions and recommendations of the “Preparatory Action on EU plant and animal genetic resources”, a letter from the European genetic resources networks was sent to the European Commission. The Letter has been signed by the coordinators of the European networks, including crops (ECPGR), animals (ERFP), forest (EUFORGEN) and microorganisms (MIRRI) and was sent on 18 November 2016 to the attention of Mr Mihail Dumitru, Deputy Director-General , Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development.
